Take-offs & estimating

Quantity take-offs

Builders, subcontractors and suppliers send us plans, and we send back measured quantities by trade, by level or by unit, ready for you to price. You keep your rates; we do the measuring.

Price
From NZ$250 per project, excl. GST
Turnaround
2 to 4 working days for most houses
Marked-up plan used for a measured quantity take-off

What we measure

  • Cladding and wall areas, by system
  • Roofing, spouting and downpipes
  • Plasterboard, framing and insulation
  • Concrete, masonry and blockwork
  • Windows, doors and interior joinery counts

Why builders send us their measuring

Measuring is the slow part of pricing. A builder quoting three or four jobs a week can lose a day to each set of plans. We return measured quantities in a few days, marked up so you can check them, and you spend your time on the price and the client.

Take-offs and quantity surveyors

We measure; we are not a quantity surveying practice and do not prepare cost plans or contract documents. Quantity surveyors use us for measurement in busy weeks, and builders use us instead of measuring at night.

Questions we are asked

Do you price the work as well?

A take-off is quantities only. If you need a priced breakdown, see our construction estimating service.

What do you deliver?

A spreadsheet of quantities with marked-up PDF drawings. We can match your estimating template if you send it.
