Take-offs & estimating
Construction estimating services
An estimate is only as good as the measurement under it. We measure the drawings, apply rates and produce a clear cost estimate you can use to price a tender, check a budget or give a client a figure, with every quantity traceable back to the drawings.
- Price
- From £190 per project, excl. VAT
- Turnaround
- Quoted per project, typically 2 to 5 working days

Your rates or ours
The most accurate estimates use your own labour rates and your suppliers' prices, because those are what you will actually pay. Send them and we build the estimate on them. If you do not have rates for a trade, we use current published rates and say so clearly, so you know which figures to check.
What it is for
- Tender pricing for main contractors and subcontractors
- Budget checks for developers before a land purchase or design stage
- Fixed-price quotes for homeowners on extensions and new builds
- Checking a subcontractor's quote against the drawings
What it is not
An estimate is not a contract sum or a quantity surveyor's cost plan, and it does not include professional fees, VAT or risk allowances unless you ask us to show them. We are clear about what is included so there are no surprises.
Questions we are asked
Are you quantity surveyors?
We are an estimating and take-off service, not a firm of chartered quantity surveyors. For contract administration, valuations or RICS-regulated advice, appoint a chartered QS; many use our take-offs to save time.
Can you estimate an extension for a homeowner's quote?
Yes. Builders use us to turn the architect's drawings into a priced breakdown they can quote from.
