Measured the way UK contractors price
We follow the conventions of the RICS New Rules of Measurement (NRM2) where you need a bill-style breakdown, or simply group quantities the way your own pricing sheet works. Every quantity is traceable to a coloured mark-up, so you or your QS can check it in minutes.
Who uses us
Subcontractors pricing several tenders a week, main contractors who need a second pair of hands at tender stage, and suppliers who quote their customers with a take-off attached. Because we work overnight UK time, drawings sent in the afternoon are usually measured by the next morning.
Questions we are asked
Is a take-off the same as a bill of quantities?
A take-off is the measurement of quantities from the drawings. A bill of quantities sets those quantities out in a formal structure, usually to NRM2, for pricing. We can supply either.
How accurate are your take-offs?
Every quantity is measured from the drawings and shown on a marked-up copy, so you can check any figure. Accuracy depends on the drawings: where they are incomplete or unclear, we list the assumptions we made.
Do you price the work as well?
We measure quantities; you apply your rates. If you need a priced estimate, see our construction estimating service.
